A Salon Paul Mitchell

Testimonials

went to Amy because of all the great reviews she got on Yelp.  I am a creature of habit and I have been going to the same stylist but I had to move so it was time for me to find a new salon to go to.  I have to say that Amy did not disappoint me.  It had been months since my last hair cut so it was really long and I had some major split ends.  I like to keep my hair fairly long but she convinced me she neede to cut at least 3 inches.  At first I was scared but when she finished I was super happy with my hair and she taught me a fast easy way to style it.  I like it so much that I already booked another appointment with her and I'm even considering getting some highlights.  Needless to say Amy is awesome and I would definitely recommend her!!

I am really happy for all the reviews that  I found here.  I really wanted to get my haircut yesterday and the salon had ONE opening!  I was greatful.

Teresa was my stylist, she was pleasant, couteous and she listened to what I wanted.  She 'cleaned up' what I already had and my hair looked and felt a lot healthier when I left. I will be back in her chair in the future.

Normally I wouldn't yelp so fast after going to a place, but I feel like this salon definitely deserves it.

I absolutely despise getting my haircut. All in all I'd say I've had about 4 or 5 professional haircuts my entire life just because I hate getting it done. Yes, it's just hair and it'll grow back, but after looking like an Asian boy after a haircut a few years ago it's pretty much instinctive to tense up the second I get into the chair. I've always had long hair except for that one time I looked like a boy and the last time I had my hair cut the hairstylist said that I shouldn't cut my hair short because it'd look bad on me.

Well, after my appointment with Nancy this morning, I successfully chopped off 17+ inches and I don't look like a little boy! Everything I've suggested to hairstylists has always ended up looking horrible and I always figure it's the best that it's gonna get, so I gave the reigns to Nancy considering how many great reviews she's had. I had a vague idea of what I wanted and somehow with my jumbled explanation of what I wanted done I ended up with great (short!) hair I actually felt proud to walk out of the salon with.

I'm so happy with my haircut and I got a free eyebrow wax from Nancy which was also fantastic! I'm just as skeptical about getting my eyebrows done by a place other than the one I go to in the Bay area, but she was really good and knew how to deal with the unruly mess that was my eyebrows. She even showed me how to fill it in with shadow for future reference.

For having my hair washed, cut, dried, and styled and an eyebrow wax the total came out to $35 (it would have been $40, but she just ended up cutting the 17 in. off instead of having to work with the long hair). With tip it came out to $42 which is still one of the cheapest and best visits to a salon for me.

Now my sister's getting her hair cut by Nancy next week. I can't wait to go back in two months!

I am one to follow my stylist, wherever she may go.  Did I mention her name is Serena, and she's awesome (shameless plug).  She just recently started working here, and I think this salon is by far the best fit for her. Everyone in the salon made me feel so welcome that I felt as though I was at a friend's house getting my hair done... yet it was still charming and upscale.  I'm not sure how they achieved this effect, but it is ideal.

From the looks of it, you could go to any stylist at this salon and come out with an amazing cut.  But again, my personal favorite is Serena.  She's taken my hair from extreme asymmetrical cuts to a sharp bob with adorable bangs.  But I have to say my favorite experience is when I decide to do a drastic color change.  She gets as excited as I am to see exactly how the color is going to come out.  I think finding someone with that much passion in what they do is difficult, and once you find it, you have to stick with it!

First of all, let me start off by saying I have NEVER EVER posted a review about any of the hairdressers I've been to, but this time I knew I had to make an exception. My hair is not in the best shape, very brittle, fine, and chemically damaged. I have been searching for months to find a hairdresser that will actually help improve the way it looks and make me feel better about it. I so happen to come across Amy and her salon while searching for a salon which has the most rave reviews. Let me tell you... she is such a miracle worker!!!! I walked in and instantly she made me feel welcomed. The atmosphere of the salon was so free and chill, not only did she take into consideration what I was looking for, she even made some suggestions I never thought I would consider  and then... VOILA!!!! I was soooooooo happy with the results, she made me beautiful again and i was extremely giddy. I received a trim and with an all over highlight and the price was very reasonable compared to other salons which will charge you an arm and a leg... fer realz!!!!  I would say that if you have had a bad experience, been over charged for mediocre service... then swing on by to A Salon Paul Mitchell and book your appointment with Amy. She will be my stylist from now on and trust me, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Amy was wonderful! She spent a good amount of time touching my hair and discussing options before she even picked up her scissors. I love my new haircut!

Amy is so approachable and easy going. I felt really comfortable and at ease with her. She listens to what you want and adds suggestions when possible and in the end you leave with a great haircut!!

Thanks Amy!

I LOVE Amy!!! This was my second time at her salon. First time, she couldn't do much with my hair since my hairdresser before totally butchered it. But this time we went all out. I'm in short hair (and that never happens) and I LOVE it (even more unlikely that it happens). I think I've found my go-to hairdresser for life!

Amy is so personable and she tells you exactly what she wants to do with your hair and never pushes you if you dont' want it done. And the best part is, she knows what cuts will flatter your face and that is so important. I've had so many haircuts where it just looks...weird.

In short, I love Amy and will be going back as long as she's still cutting! :)
